Bribie Island Wedding

Bribie Island Wedding

Beaches for Your Bribie Island Wedding

Less than an hour north of the Brisbane CBD, not far from Redcliffe and  close to the southern end of the Sunshine Coast, Bribie Island is a great place to get married. Connected to the mainland by a bridge, its miles of sandy beaches mean that there are endless choices for beach ceremonies. It’s worth grabbing your hat, slapping on sunscreen and hitting the beaches to seek out your ideal ceremony spot for your Bribie Island wedding.

Bribie Island Wedding Parks

If getting sand between your toes on your wedding day doesn’t appeal, there are several parks on Bribie that have bookable areas for ceremonies. Most of these also have fabulous water views. On the ocean side of the island, Bluey Piva Park and Edwin Schrag Park at Woorim are definitely worth a look. On the calm side, check out Col Fischer Park at Banksia Beach, and Brennan Park and Chamber of Commerce Park at Bongaree.

Vietnam Veterans Park at Bongaree doesn’t have sea views. That’s not a problem because it’s a lovely shady park directly across the road from the Bribie Island RSL. It’s an ideal spot if you’re holding your reception at the RSL because your guests can simply walk across the road for the party.

Bribie Island Wedding Venues

The RSL has a variety of ceremony and reception options and can accommodate up to 160 guests; however, it’s one of many venues for your Bribie Island wedding reception. The Bribie Island Sports Club has some affordable function packages with indoor and outdoor ceremony and reception options.  The Jetty restaurant has an absolute beachfront location and can handle functions with up to 200 people.

The Pacific Harbour Golf and Country Club at Banksia Beach has two airconditioned function rooms with private decks that are ideal for Bribie Island wedding receptions. The wedding packages also include a round of golf for members of the bridal party.

There are also many houses for rent that are perfect for smaller weddings. Check out the houses available on platforms such as Airbnb and Stayz as well as talking with local real estate agents to see what’s available. There are some amazing rental houses in the canal estates at Banksia Beach.

Not Quite a Bribie Island Wedding

Just across the bridge on the mainland lies the Sandstone Point Hotel, a very popular wedding venue that provides everything. It offers a choice of ceremony areas, a number of reception options and accommodation for bridal party and guests.

Those All-Important Wedding Photos

You will be spoiled for choice for wedding photo locations on Bribie. The calm side of the island is west-facing so many couples get fabulous sunset photos on the jetty and on the beaches by getting married later in the afternoon.

Bribie Island Wedding Accommodation

Bribie has all kinds of accommodation options, so your guests can stay locally after your Bribie Island wedding. From caravan parks to luxury apartments, much of the accommodation is within walking distance of many venues. For guests who choose to drive, parking is generally free and untimed, although Bribie’s popularity means that sometimes finding the perfect car park takes time and patience.
