I’m a Brisbane City Celebrant but I grew up in Toowoomba and I love driving, so conducting a ceremony at Gabbinbar Homestead on the outskirts of Toowoomba, about 90 minutes’ drive west of Brisbane, was a pleasure. The heritage listed homestead was built in 1876 and was used as a private home for many years. It has been extensively renovated and restored and has been used as a wedding venue since 2012.
The single storey homestead is surrounded by wide verandahs and sits in large and picturesque gardens. There is a choice of six ceremony areas, from indoor (handy in Toowoomba’s chilly winter months) to a variety of outdoor options. Because it is both a ceremony and reception venue, a range of dining options is available and most dietary requirements can be accommodated.
Gabbinbar Homestead Toowoomba
There are endless places on the property for photos, both in the beautiful gardens and inside the carefully restored homestead. Because Toowoomba experiences all four seasons, the gardens and the photo opportunities change throughout the year.
Plenty of car parking is available on site. Rooms are available for members of the wedding party to get ready onsite.
Gabbinbar does not offer a variety of wedding packages. Instead, it offers “The Gabbinbar Experience” which includes exclusive use of the homestead on the day of the wedding. While it is not the cheapest venue around, Gabbinbar offers many options and amazing service that will help make your wedding day really special and memorable.
