Get Married at Mt Cotton
Mt Cotton is a beautiful rural area just southeast of Brisbane in Redland City. Cattle graze on the rolling hills and kangaroos watch lazily from paddocks as you drive by. But Mt Cotton is also home to some fabulous wedding venues – Sirromet Wines, Rainforest Gardens and the Mt Cotton Retreat.
Sirromet is a working winery that is a perennial favourite for weddings. You have a choice of beautiful ceremony venues. Laguna is the lakeside chapel, the Arbour is set amidst the grapevines and the Amoroso is ideal for sunset weddings under the canopy of fig trees lit with twinkling fairy lights. Sirromet is a great choice if you’re hoping to get married at Mt Cotton.
Sirromet has great reception options too. The Tuscan Terrace is ideal for cocktail style receptions and the Barrel Room has a warm and comfortable cellar feel. Restaurant Lurleen’s is Sirromet’s premier restaurant and my personal favourite. It offers fabulous food in a gorgeous venue with magnificent views over Moreton Bay.
There is also accommodation onsite. Merlot House is an open plan luxury four bedroom house. Sanctuary is a collection of pavilions that put the glamour into glamping.
The Rainforest Gardens are another great reason to get married at Mt Cotton. They are situated high on a hillside with fabulous Moreton Bay views. The Rainforest Gardens are a great choice if you want to hold your ceremony and reception in the same location. The gardens are manicured, lush and tropical and the ceremony area by the lake is beautiful and peaceful. There is plenty of free parking onsite.
Mt Cotton Retreat
Sirromet and the Rainforest Gardens cater for weddings large and small, but the Mt Cotton Retreat has a rustic bushland location and is perfect for small to medium sized weddings. There are a number of ceremony locations on the property accommodating up to 100 guests.
The Mt Cotton Retreat prides itself on its fine hand-crafted foods. The main function room seats 65 guests and accommodates 75 for cocktail style receptions. There is also an intimate verandah dining space for up to 12 people. There is plenty of comfortable cabin-style accommodation onsite.
No matter what vision you have for your wedding day, it’s definitely worth considering getting married at Mt Cotton. There are venues to suit every budget and style of wedding.
