Why Choose Hamilton
Getting married at Hamilton is a great choice for a number of reasons. First of all, it’s handy to everything. Hamilton is only 10 minutes by car from the Brisbane CBD and 10 minutes from Brisbane Airport. Secondly, it’s beautiful. The Brisbane River winds through Hamilton on its way to Moreton Bay. There are great river views and lots of places for fabulous photos with the river as a backdrop. Thirdly, there’s plenty of public transport in the area so travel to and from your wedding is a breeze for guests.
Hamilton Wedding Venues
In my opinion, these three venues stand out if you’re getting married at Hamilton:
Situated on MacArthur Avenue close to the trendy Eat Street Markets, Northshore Harbour has a prime position on the banks of the Brisbane River. A bustling cafe during the day, after 3pm Northshore Harbour becomes a stylish wedding venue. The grassy outdoor areas are fabulous for ceremonies. The cafe looks amazing when set up for delicious sit-down dinners or cocktail style receptions and has wonderful views of the river. If the weather is bad on your wedding day, the indoor ceremony setup looks great too. A bonus is that there is plenty of free parking nearby.
Moda Events Portside
Overlooking the river at Portside Wharf, right next to the Brisbane Cruise Ship Terminal, is Moda, a classy option for getting married at Hamilton. Moda offers fantastic food, spacious ceremony areas and a variety of reception spaces with panoramic water views. It can accommodate weddings of all sizes from intimate celebrations to the most lavish extravaganzas.
The Hamilton Hotel
The Hamilton Hotel is situated right on Kingsford-Smith Drive, a stone’s throw from the marvellous photo opportunities of the river. Although the hotel does not have a ceremony area, it offers reception packages to suit all styles of weddings and budgets. The Hamilton Hotel caters for gatherings of up to 700 guests, so will be able to accommodate virtually any wedding. It’s definitely worth a look if you’re planning on getting married at Hamilton or in a suburb nearby.
If you love the Hamilton Hotel, but don’t know where to hold your ceremony, have a look at Newstead Park, one of my very favourite outdoor locations for Brisbane weddings. It’s beautiful, with established trees and lovely gardens. It has a cute-as-a-button little rotunda perfect for weddings right on the river’s edge and Brisbane’s oldest residence, historic Newstead House, sits right in the middle of the park. It has loads of free parking and better still, it’s super close to Hamilton.
