Kangaroo Point Weddings

Kangaroo Point Weddings
Spectacular river and city views, a great choice of ceremony and reception venues and everything just a few minutes from the CBD – what’s not to like about Kangaroo Point weddings in Brisbane?
Captain Burke Park
The most striking feature of Kangaroo Point is undoubtedly the magnificent Story Bridge spanning the Brisbane River. You can have your marriage ceremony directly under this iconic Brisbane landmark. Captain Burke Park is situated right under the Story Bridge. It’s quieter than many inner city Brisbane parks with great facilities, large grassy areas and plenty of trees, including many shady poincianas. After a late afternoon Kangaroo Point wedding in Captain Burke Park, your photographer can capture those all-important photos as the bridge lights up and the skyscrapers across the river are silhouetted against a dramatic sunset…
Kangaroo Point Cliffs Park
Kangaroo Point Cliffs Park is really two parks in one. The River Terrace section perches high atop the Kangaroo Point Cliffs, offering amazing views of the river and the city on the opposite bank. There are three designated sites that can be booked for Kangaroo Point weddings from the Brisbane City Council website. The open air amphitheatre accommodates up to 100 people. The City Skyline Outlook is a viewing platform for up to 25 people with views over the Kangaroo Point Reach of the Brisbane River and the intimate St Mary’s Hideaway is suitable for up to 15 people.
The Lower River Terrace section of the park has three bookable sites with absolute river frontage. The sites are separated from each other by bushes. The Bridal Arch is located inside a concrete wall by the river. Also, there are two grassy lawn areas suitable for both your ceremony and a cocktail or picnic style reception (you can book more than one area).
The Kangaroo Point Cliffs are a Mecca for rock climbers and the river is popular for canoeists and kayakers. Joggers and dog walkers also love the area, so parking is often difficult. It’s a great location, but tell your guests to consider arriving by cab or Uber to minimise parking stress.
A Fabulous Venue
If you’re searching for a place to hold your Kangaroo Point wedding ceremony and reception in the one location, look no further. The area has a wonderful venue that might be exactly what you need.
