The Redcliffe Peninsula is beautiful and Redcliffe weddings have long been a popular option for couples wanting a location with a holiday vibe only a short drive from Brisbane. The beautiful sandy beaches, tranquil blue ocean and views all the way to Moreton Island, make Redcliffe feel like it’s a million miles away.
Parks for Redcliffe Weddings
Couples choosing Redcliffe weddings have lots of great parks to choose from. Many of these are by the sea and have great views, and there are plenty of bookable areas that can be reserved on the Moreton Bay Regional Council website.
A couple of my favourites are Crockatt Park at Woody Point and, at the other end of the peninsula, the park facing Scarborough Beach. Although they can be busy at times, there is plenty of free parking near both of these parks. For couples planning a laid back, picnic reception, there are sheltered picnic areas with free electric barbecues. The Scarborough Beach park also has the Pirate Playgrounds to keep children of all ages entertained during your reception.
Two other parks that I like for Redcliffe weddings are Tingira Park in Second Avenue at Scarborough and Endeavour Park at Newport. These parks have fewer facilities than many in the area; however, they’re also quieter and you are less likely to have to share your space with other park users.
There are many great restaurants and other venues on the Redcliffe Peninsula that can cater for the smallest and most intimate celebrations right up to the largest wedding parties. A quick Google Search or a leisurely drive through the area will reveal a myriad of possible venues for celebrating with family and friends after your ceremony.
Here are a few of my favourites for Redcliffe weddings, but there are many more great venues in the area:
- The Suttons Beach Pavilion is a restaurant in the old bathing pavilion close to the centre of Redcliffe. It is right on the beach and has panoramic sea views
- The Golden Ox Restaurant and Wedding Venue in Oxley Avenue at Margate doesn’t have sea views, but it has a stylish and private ceremony area. It also has a reputation for fabulous food and great service
- The Mon Komo Hotel on Marine Parade at Redcliffe is a modern venue that offers a ceremony area, a number of dining options for your reception and stylish accommodation all in the one place
- The Belvedere is a hotel situated just across the road from Crockatt Park at Woody Point. It is very popular as a reception venue for ceremonies held in the park. The Bel features a dedicated first floor function room with balcony and private bar facilities. Downstairs the different spaces can accommodate groups of up to 550 people
For other northside wedding options, have a look at my blogs about getting married at Scarborough, Suttons Beach and Shorncliffe. For waterside wedding locations on the south side of Brisbane, Manly and Cleveland are definitely worth looking at.
