Why Have Your Wedding In Logan

Logan is home to lots of southeast Queenslanders, but couples often don’t think about holding their wedding in Logan. But there are plenty of great wedding venues in Logan to hold your marriage ceremony and some excellent and affordable reception options.

Joncia Gardens

Joncia Gardens is one of my very favourite wedding venues in Logan. Actually, it’s one of my favourites anywhere in southeast Queensland. There are several indoor and outdoor locations for weddings in this 2.5ha piece of Paradise. Joncia Gardens has it all – the cute Little Bush Chapel, the quirky Depot Diner, the lovely Rotunda by the lake, the Poinciana area with its majestic trees and mass plantings of white roses… the list goes on. After your ceremony, there are tons of beautiful photo spots as well.

Beautiful Parks for a Wedding in Logan

Logan has lots of parks and many have bookable sites for weddings (see the Logan City Council website). I have conducted lots of weddings in parks in Logan and these are three of my favourite parks:

• Forestglen Park in Browns Plains is grassy and spacious. Although it’s on a busy road, the park is surprisingly quiet with shady trees and a shelter that’s perfect for ceremonies on hot and wet days. There’s plenty of off street parking too.
• Underwood Park isn’t in Underwood, it’s in Priestdale, and it’s a lovely location for a wedding in Logan. It’s a huge park with plenty of facilities. There is a small and pretty lake near the front that is ideal for ceremonies. There’s plenty of free parking onsite.
• Tygum Park at Waterford West has a little waterside deck perfect for intimate weddings. The park also has lots of birdlife. If you choose a late afternoon wedding, you will probably have plenty of feathered guests as well as human ones.

Reception Venues for Your Wedding in Logan

There are wedding venues in Logan to suit many budgets. Many reception venues are located in hotels or licensed clubs. The Greenbank RSL has a number of dedicated function rooms to suit sit down or cocktail style receptions with varying numbers of guests. Diggers Services Club at Logan Central has the Crystal Palace Room which can accommodate up to 500 people and has a parquetry dance floor. The club has a reputation for good food. Fitzy’s at Loganholme is another venue that might be worth checking out.

Now for something completely different… think about some of the bars and restaurants in Logan. The Monkey Tree Brewing Company is a great party space in Underwood that allows couples having their wedding in Logan to bring their own caterers or to get food trucks to feed their hungry guests.
